Conscious Animal Radio  

I've been listening to Whale Songs from the Whale Song Project in Maui as I prepare for this coming Monday's (Dec 3rd) show.  I'll be having Sharanya Prasad, Marine Mammal Officer for The World Society For The Protect Of Animals in the first have and California Artist, Peggy Oki in the second half. 

The whale songs are amazing.  I've been listening to them for about an hour and my whole body is resonating with them.   According to the Whale Song Project (www.whalesong.net) there are two types of Humpback Whale vocalizations: communication and song.  Communication volcalization is barely audible, where songs can be heard over 100s of miles.

The show on Monday is inspired by the show on Nov 5th with Kathy Biehl, Tarot Reader/Astrologer for Animals (listen to the archive if you missed it)  when we checked in with what the Whales had to tell us.  After that I put out the psychic call to the Whales that I would do a whole show for them if they sent me the people to be on the show, and they did.

Sharanya Prasad most recently helped to organize a protest outside the Japan Consulate in Boston on World Dolphin Day (Sept 25).  Dolphins are of the Whale family.  Sharanya will be talking about what's going on in the world with regard to Whales and Dolphins, what this means for the Whales and Dolphins of the planet and what WSPA is working on currently.

Peggy Oki, who joins me for the second half of the show is a powerful voice for whales.  Peggy is a fascinating woman.  She is an artist, a champion skateboarder and surfer and an environmental activist.  For over 20 years she has dedicated most of her time as an activist in the effort to protect dolphins and whales and to bring commercial shaling to a halt.

In her own words "I am touched by the natural beauty of this planet. I've studied and have had many a close encounter with the creatures and creations on this amazing Earth.  And because I am conscious of the various threats to these very things that I love, I am compelled to take action to protect and preserve these animals and places that are so dear to me."

Each show is very special to me and this Monday's is no exception.  I look forward to exploring the world of Whales and inspiring listeners to grow in their awareness and take action for what matters most to each of us, be that whales, dogs, birds, or life itself.
