My guest is LaTanya White Founder of Concept Creative Hospitality Group LLC. LaTanya knows the hospitality industry and she knows impeccable customer service. She’s a foodie and she mixes a mean cocktail! LaTanya’s Concept Group is a portfolio of companies based in Tallahassee, Florida. The signature company in the portfolio is the Cocktail Experience Lounge, that caters to the mature working professional. This is a green social and business space dedicated to sustainable hospitality. In 2007, LaTanya got her start in the hospitality industry as a mixologist when she founded 71 Proof LLC, a bar catering service firm that serves the Southeast. She received her training in bartending and mixology from the American Bartending School in July 2006. LaTanya has since continued to hone her skills and brush up on the most current industry trends through educational workshops including the nationally renowned Tales of the Cocktail celebration in New Orleans. Also in 2007, LaTanya was among a select few to receive a full scholarship to The Beverage Alcohol Resource (BAR) Program which provides the highest level of training in mixology to date, which is equivalent to the Master of Wine and Master Sommelier training. She was chosen to serve as one of Grand Marnier’s Mixology Consultants for 2008 and was an inaugural participant in the Tales of the Cocktail Apprentice Program as well as one of the top 10 finalists in the Conde Nast Traveler Custom Cocktail Contest. LaTanya is very involved in her local community and is currently preparing to launch a first-of-its-kind Chamber of Commerce geared specifically towards student-run businesses. She is also teaching entrepreneurship courses at Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry where she earned her Master of Business Administration degree with high honors. She has recently completed her degree in Wines, Spirits and Beverage Management from the Art Institute of Tampa as one of the program’s first graduates.
