Gina Loehr, author of "Real Women, Real Saints", returns to Catholic Radio 2.0 to discuss her new book "Choosing Beauty: A 30-Day Spiritual Makeover for Women", which will allow your inner light to shine. The Commander will also have thoughts on the passing of Ted Kennedy

  • Original Air Date:

    Be Holy!

God instructs us in Leviticus 11:45, "Be holy, for I am holy." In host Commander Craig's life, that's easier said than done. To learn more about how we as Catholics can follow this call of God, the Commander welcomes Fr. Tom Morrow, whose new book "Be Holy: A Catholic's Guide to the Spiritual Life" presents all the elements of a successful spiritual life and helps us incorporate them into everyday practice. Get ready for some nuts-and-bolts spiritual direction.

  • Original Air Date:

Liturgy As Catechesis: How Does the Mass Teach the Catholic Faith?

This week, Deborah Morlani from The New Liturgical Movement blog joins Commander Craig to discuss how the Mass, particularly when properly and reverently celebrated, becomes an excellent tool for handing on the faith that comes to us from the Apostles. We'll also see how the liturgy can shape a greater pro-life sensibility.

  • Original Air Date:

The Papal Encyclical: Fr. Fessio Explains It All For You

Fr. Joseph Fessio, S.J. wrote his doctoral thesis under the direction of Fr. Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, almost 40 years ago. His publishing house, Ignatius Press, has released the English-language versions of nearly all of the Holy Father's writings. Who better, then, to help us unpack the Pope's new social encyclical, "Caritas In Veritate (Charity In Truth)"? Fr. Fessio will explain what the encyclical really says, tying it into the whole of Benedict's thought and teaching. We'll also look at "Faith and the Future", an anthology of radio addresses given in the late 60s by then-Fr. Ratzinger, just published by Ignatius.

  • Original Air Date:

St. Benedict's 12 Steps of Humility, Part 2

We'll continue to look at Chapter 7 of the Rule of St. Benedict, which discusses a cornerstone Benedictine virtue, humility.
