Colored People

Querida Maria Jones is from the suburbs of Washington D.C and Maryland and is the creator of Agape Gifts.

She designs beautiful accessories and wasn't aware that there was a name for what she liked to do until in the 3rd grade art class. It was her favorite part of her week and succeeded in every project she was given. Creating was second nature to her.

Her classic designs have been influenced by watching old movies such as Bettie Grable musicals, Joan Fontain in Hitchcocks Rebecca and in Jane Eyre with Orson Wells and Elizabeth Taylor in A Place in the Sun to name a few.

"I'm just a HUGE movie classics lover all around. I adore how the women dressed for every occasion with purpose , attention, and fit. There is just a perfect flow to the femininity..."
Says Querida.

Nature is a source of inspiration to this talented lady who is also a very good sketch artist and does water colors of various landscapes... but claims she does not have a green thumb. She is the oldest of 22 first cousins and was born to a very large female family and that works to her benefit as they have gorgeous hair and she uses as an advantage in her advertising.

"... when they wear my pieces. If they are able to bring in two sales I'll create a hair piece for them for free."
She says.

She also gets great exposure by working on custom orders of hair accessories and bouquets. She is currently working on three weddings, including her sister's wedding, which she is very excited about.

Querida was invited to join 1000 markets and she is pleased with the smallness of the community, the proffessional level of all the shops and the expectation of great customer service there.

She says she is very new to online selling but knows Etsy and 1000 Markets are the two right places for her to learn and grow from current local roots.

"Before when someone asked me what I did it was very hard to describe clay Floral Accessories and Vintage Recreations, but now I have a places to direct people to."
She recalls...

Her work is beautiful, she is a perfectionist and we are very excited to have Querida Jones as a member of ColoredPeople.net.

We invite you to join your host Tania-Maria Xavier at BlogTalkRadio.com/ColoredPeople on August 13, 2009 at 7pm PST/9pm CST/10pm EST.
