Chuk Barber - Chukinho was called up in 1997, to the “Big Leagues” to play alongside his musical heroes in the Original Low Riders, aka the 70's funk group WAR, as part of the driving rhythm section that has become the band’s signature trademark.
(The roots of War lay in an R&B cover band called the Creators. While attending high school in the Compton area, in 1962, guitarist Howard Scott and drummer Harold Brown started the group.)

Since moving to Portland, Chukinho, along with another New Orleans musician, Tom Sandahl, and 5 of Portland’s finest, created the group, Indigo, fusing Brazilian Bossa Nova with Jazz and Funk beautifully.
Chukinho is also a writer and painter. We will feature two of the Band's songs... surprise!
