Gerald Sims came to our class on September 11, 2012 to discuss to us what he did as a job every day. Mr. Sims is a South Carolina state transport police officer and works mainly on the highway. He waits on the highway and watches 18 wheeler trucks for any unusual acts that may lead to drug smuggling around the country. Gerald Sims has arrested 6 people and 5 of them were from his highway patrol job. Mr. Sims also mentioned how he got to the job he is in currently. He was first in the army and attended West Point and after serving overseas he decided to join the police force. For a couple of years he was in the SWAT team here in South Carolina. He got a degree in history and business administration also.
