Chelle, thank for downloading my show and for listening. There were a couple technical things for the first show but all in all I think it went well. Great poem that Josh K. called in with. I wanted to add the poetry segment because it was something different and powerful plus as an author I want to give other authors the chance to get noticed. I hope you are feeling better. Take care and God Bless.

Show Notes

There's just so much to talk about, ya know? :) I'm a reunited adoptee: adopted at 13 days old and been reunited with entire biological family since age 24 (for 11 years now) - so yes, I'm 35 years old. I lost six family members within six months in 2008, including both of my parents who adopted and raised me as well as my uncle (my birth mom's brother).

    PRAYER SHAWLS being donated....

In 2008, I lost six family members within six months, including my parents and uncle. I made a black prayer shawl and wore it to my parents’ funerals. It brought me comfort and solace and reminded me that God’s arms were always wrapped around me. I also had two broken arms during that time in my life and recall thinking to myself the doctor was crazy when he advised me the best therapy was for me was to keep using my arms, but I did take his advice into action and I crocheted every day. Stitch by stitch, day by day, my arms began to heal. I made many items while I had broken arms and a broken heart, but never a broken spirit. And now I would like to provide something for others going thru a difficult time and so I have decided this “Prayer Shawl Project” would be the best way to intertwine my skills and experience in doing so.

Please share your story of who you want a prayer shawl to go to and why; it can be for yourself or someone else; email me at CTalkWC@aol.com and I will choose one person per week to donate a shawl to. Please include name and mailing address for where you would like to me to send the shawl to and also which 2 or 3 colors to use for it.

There is no charge for the shawl; however, if you would like to donate to this cause, which helps cover expenses, such as the rolls of yarn and shipping, then please donate either via via paypal to email address of CTalkWC@aol.com or by use of mailing address of ‘Chelle Baxter, PO Box 48508, Fort Worth, TX 76148

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

    Some uses for the shawl…

Shawls can be used for: undergoing medical procedures; as a comfort after a loss or in times of stress; during bereavement; prayer or meditation; commitment or marriage ceremonies; birthing, nursing a baby; bridal shower or wedding gift; leading ritual; during an illness and recovery; ministering to others; graduation, birthday, anniversary, ordination, holiday gifts; or just socializing…there are endless possibilities!

A blessing or ritual maybe offered when the gift is presented.
