Back in 2010 Barbara Olschner felt compelled to run for Congress in Florida's 2nd District, a generally Democratic district that many in the GOP felt was vulnerable. As a moderate, thoughtful, logical Republican, she thought perhaps her chances were good.  Little did she know that a Tea Party wave was on the way.

We'll speak with Barbara about her experiences, which she's chronicled in her new book, The Reluctant Republican.  Join us for this insider's view

Presented by Coffee Party USA, "The Middle Ground" covers a variety of topics with a trans-partisan approach with an eye to finding the place where the two major political parties share that 'middle ground.' Co-hosted by award-winning filmmaker Eric Byler (center-left perspective) and political author Michael Charney (center-right perspective), the show airs every Tuesday 8 to 9:30 pm ET.
