When did this financial crisis REALLY start?  Today on LUNCH WITH LOUDEN, we will discuss several possible causes for the current economic conditions.  Was it was the illegal practices of Enron (with the blessing of Arthur Andersen), WorldCom, Tyco, and other firms that manipulated the markets, became the “darlings” of Wall Street, stole their employees futures and filed for bankruptcy while their top executives nearly walked away with millions?  The creation and collapse of the derivatives market?  The two unfunded wars we are still waging?  The LIBOR scandal?  Or perhaps something else?

What lessons did the players and gamblers on Wall Street learn from these events?  And most importantly, what effect did the policy makers and our elected officials have in either propping up these untoward practices or attempting to stop them?  And what did we, the people learn, and how has it affected our own philosophies and voting habits?  And what have we been conditioned to accept?

Since these companies are good at obfuscating responsibility, they pay fines and no one goes to jail.  What would happen if people did start going to jail?  Is there room in our prisons?  Do they get the “bankers suite?”  We know criminal activity happened.  How can we stop this egregious behavior?

Join guest host Dan Aronson and co-host Debilyn Molineaux on today’s LUNCH WITH LOUDEN.
