Coaching Success Strategies
Creative Support
In order to help the client feel more secure and supported, offer possible strategies and structures that are in alignment with the client’s specific needs. It is an important factor that the client has confidence in building relationships, using tools and techniques, and knowing that unlimited resources are available and can easily be created. This will help the client maintain progress and motivation in order to reach their desired outcome.
Encourage the client to write a list of areas in which they may have a need for more support and structure. This should be a simple and easy process and it will give more clarity and understanding to the client. Empower the client to try new ideas and approaches, and avoid repeating old patterns from old conditioning, ultimately leaving the client feeling as if nothing has been accomplished. The client should feel as if the new approach will enhance and complement their life.
Suggest realistic references and resources, and seek to identify creative ways of expanding capability through supportive systems that were not previously identified. Assist the client to investigate the possible integration of these support systems. Make sure that these ideas are in alignment with the client current needs, and release any attachment to the client’s reaction or response to any of the resources, structures, or support systems.
Identifying the client’s individual needs before recommending resources or support systems will eliminate irrelevant and inappropriate suggestions. Listen carefully to the client’s response to the suggestions, and possible suggestions that the client may have as well. Actively supporting the client in implementing and using the new support systems will encourage and empower the client to have a new sense of responsibility and appreciation.
