It comes naturally. Being the eldest daughter of nine children, I was drafted by my parents to make things happen - to motivate a divergent group toward a common goal and to persist even in the face of impossible challenges. Talk about mat pounding! When was the last time you tried to get eight children to do housekeeping while competing with every distraction from the TV to the telephone? These skills proved most valuable in the rough and tumble world of New York State politics.
