Matthew Shea is in his fourth season at Bishop Ireton’s high school in Alexandria, VA. Prior to his time at Bishop Ireton Shea coached at Georgetown as a defensive assistant and work with the Hoyas special teams.
Shea got his start with the Washington Redskins video department in May 2004. Prior to the 2006 season Shea responsibilities expanded, included assisting Coach Joe Gibbs with team research projects and performing film break downs for the defensive staff. In February 2007 Shea was named as the defensive quality control coach.
Prior to joining the NFL, Shea served as the International Account/Business Development Lead Pinnacle Systems in Lowell, MA. , where his duties included contract negotiations and management of international channel sales. While at Pinnacle, he also implemented the video and data solution used by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Super Bowl week.
Shea earned his bachelor degree in Social Science from the University of Minnesota-Morris, where he also was a three-year letter winner in football and team captain. A native of Glenwood, MN, he is married and resides in Alexandria, VA.
