Barrie, Ontario – They say “Dog is Man’s best friend,” but when the cold winter months arrive, dogs are truly a friend in need.
4 Season K-9 is a specialty website dedicated to the safety, comfort and well-being of your family pet. Founded by seamstress and designer Peggy Pridham, 4 Season K-9 offers the web’s most comprehensive selection of custom accessories and dog-clothing essentials.
“What 4 Season K-9 stands for is clothing that is essential to your pet and accessories that are beneficial for a pet owner,” says Pridham. “Every product has been personally handcrafted by me, customized to your dog. Whether it’s an outdoor coat or a dress for Christmas, we can make that happen.”
4 Season K-9’s collection includes everything from visors and harness vests to raincoats, snowsuits and even dresses. Pridham’s unique line of dog clothing can be customized for any dog, from a teacup poodle to a Great Dane.
Of course this begs the question: why does a dog need clothing?
“Where I live in Canada, we’ve been known to receive six feet of snow,” explains Pridham. “When we go outside we put on boots, a warm coat, a hat; we protect ourselves from the elements. Not all dogs are protected from the elements with their own fur, especially short-haired dogs like English bulldogs and Chihuahuas. They can’t go out in the cold.
The website offers Pridham an opportunity to experiment and further develop ways to share her passion for sewing.
“Sewing has always been a passion for me,” says Pridham, who learned the basic rudiments of sewing at seven years old in her father’s tailor shop. “It’s always been at my fingertips. I have the gift of being able to look at a piece of fabric and see a finished product. 4 Season K-9 gives me an opportunity to share my gift.”
