My Guest is Elder Ronald Simmons

Most of Elder Simmons education was obtained in the mean streets of Los Angeles Calif. Where he once belonged to gangs and then became a dope dealer until he became his best customer. On April 22, 1981 Ron sought out recovery with a $800 a day cocaine habit, Ron turn his life over to God and for over 31 years he has worked on the front line in Gods army helping addicts and alcoholic find freedom in Christ Jesus.One of Elder Simmons main goals in life is to train the Church on How To Win This Winnable War on Drug and Alcohol Addiction.

Elder Simmons is also is a licensed Christian Counselor at West Angeles COGIC and the director of the Substance Abuse department for West Angeles. The Counseling Center conducts individual counseling sessions for those in need and holds weekly meeting for hundreds of recovering addicts/alcoholics and also their family members.

Elder Simmons is the author of “Understanding Christian Drug and Alcohol Recovery” which is being used by recovering addicts and alcoholics everywhere. Counselors in this field use this book in recovery homes helping them to understand the different stages of recovery.

Elder Simmons 2nd book “Recovery Tower” will be released in the near future.In July of 2006 Elder Simmons was received a Honorary Doctoral of Divinity from Southern California School of Divinity. Elder Simmons fulfilled his requirements as a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Drug and Alcohol studies at UCLA.Today Elder Simmons assist UCLA’s Counseling Certification Class by teaching “Bringing Recovery to Diverse Populations” to students in the UCLA extension program.
