Over the past decade, American's college graduation rates have been surpassed by other nations. Though more than 40 percent of U.S. adults aged 25-34 hold post-secondary degrees, that rate pales in comparison to nations like Canada, South Korea and Russia which rank 1st, 2nd and 3rd and all boasting graduation rates above 55 percent. Last year, President Obama called for the United States to boost its college graduation rates by 2020. Next month, he will convene a national youth summit in an effort to engage high school students in a multi-media exchange about how they think the country should improve its graduation rates. In this episode of CL-Exchange OnAir, we are joined by education leadership professor Francisco Guajardo and high school leadership instructor Juan Ozuna, both of the Llano Grande Center in South Texas. They will share their thoughts about the president's approach and the role they think collective leadership might play in boosting the nation's graduation rate.
