Clef Hangers: Hangin' with Henry  

It began with a "The Writer's Cafe is down for maintence" to an unscrupulous "Where Your Writing Go?"

And, really, where did it go? All those hours? All those finger numbing, back binding work? Down the tubes, so to speak and so to use a terrible cliche that only seems worth it because you're going to spend the next week writing writing writing to fill the gap.

Hey, I don't blame Charlie. How can I? He went and gave to us a wondrous community that is a constant give and take of imagination and inspiration. How can I blame him for giving me that? You that, for that matter.

All we can do is cope with the loss. (And hopefully, unlike me, you saved everything.) He's human. He makes mistakes, he has thumbs that accidentally trail over the Delete button - if thumbs could do that. (I'm looking at mine now and the certainly do not.) But human, he is. Super genius? That too. But this proves that he's human.

Human human human.

I'm going to continue tell myself that as I dribble drabble scribble ideas for next week's show. Because this week's (2/5/08) is cancelled - because I certainly wasn't prepared for this.
