BREAKING NEWS!

Today we'll meet the husband & wife team who plan to go from coast to coast and back in their stock Civic GX. They want to highlight natural gas as a transportation fuel and let America know they have a choice, other than petroleum. Special guest today will be Mark Looper, who made this same journey back in 1998 in a CNG powered Dodge van.

Meet the people, companies and organizations that are working to break our nations addiction to foreign oil by developing the fuel, vehicles and infrastructure of tommorrow.

This program is Hosted by Curtis Martin, Program Coordinator for Antelope Valley Clean Cities. The Clean Cities Program is run out of the Dept of Energy's Advanced Transportation Division and is a public/private partnership, which encourages local decisions to adopt alternative fuel vehicles.

The show is sponsored by the Ryder/Sanbag project and funded through the 2009 ARRA stimulus funds.

The Ryder/SANBAG project is part of a joint public/private partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy, the California Energy Commission, San Bernardino Associated Governments, Southern California Association of Governments, and Ryder. The $38.7 million project includes a total of 202 natural gas vehicles available for lease or rent, three strategically located natural gas compliant maintenance shops in Rancho Dominguez, Orange, and Fontana, and two fueling stations. Ryder took delivery of 70 vehicles in May and is expected to have the balance of the full 202 SANBAG natural gas vehicle order in its fleet by the end of 2011.
