Anti-Common Core Rally In Montgomery, Alabama 3/12/2014

Hear excerpts from Anti-Common Core Rally in Montgomery, Alabama on March 12th with Senator Scott Beason.  Have a feeling there is going to be some house cleaning in 2014. Here is an excerpt from Becky Gerritson's testimony about the Bluest Eye--Both AL.com and the Montgomery Advertiser wrote articles indicating that I misled the committee by implying that this horrid passage was in the actual literature textbook. They also said I read this book because it was on the AL reading list. However, in my testimony I clearly stated that the author and title were featured in the textbook. I also stated that AL State Superintendent, Dr. Bice, had removed Appendix B from Alabama's course of study but his action was futile. The Bluest Eye and other works like it are so important to Common Core's agenda that they are not only on the Common Core's Exemplar List (Appendix B) but the authors and titles are featured on full pages inside of the actual literature textbooks and these books can also be found on the online Accelerated Reader lists.
