Today's guest Dr.O. Raye Adkins, Ed.D, is an award-winning former public school principal turned nonprofit executive, expert on caring for children facing loss and poverty, and author of the new book Letters To My Father: The Gifts. Dr. Adkins worked more than 32 years in San Antonio area public schools as a teacher, administrator and elementary school principal. She earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University, and holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a bachelor's degree in English and Speech. She has completed professional training to be recognized as a Teacher Expectation and Student Achievement Trainer. Dr. Adkins has also been recognized as a Principal of the Year by the University of Texas at San Antonio.She joins Darien and Mary today for an uplifting and quite moving discussion about life.visit her at www.oramite.com
