The Citadel Bulldogs Hockey  

After a cinderella season, in which the Bulldogs were able to fight their way to a second place finish in the Blue Ridge Hockey Conference. The dogs are ready for the season to start to prove that they belong with the best teams not only in the south, but in the nation as well.

    2nd Annual Military Classic

    Charleston, SC---The date has been announced for the second annual Military Classic Tournament. The game between V.M.I. and The Citadel will take place at the Polar Ice House in Wake Forest, NC on December 5th, 2009. Last year the tournament raised over $6000 for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.

    The Citadel will travel to Lynchburg, VA to take on the Keydets on their home ice the day before, on December 4th. The Bulldogs will then travel to Wake Forest for Saturday night's game.

    Canturbury Goalie to Attend Citadel



    Charleston, SC
    ---Brian Taptick, a 6' tall goaltender from Middletown, CT will be attending The Citadel next season. He has been playing travel hockey since he was 9 and started playing AAA hockey at age 12. Brian was one of 3 Summer Sophomore MVP's at the 2005 Hockey Night in Boston Summer Showcase Tournament. He attended High School at Canterbury School and played 4 years on the varsity team. Also, at Canterbury he made the All-Tournament Team at the 2007-2008 E.G. Watkins Christmas Tournament at Cushing Academy. In High School Brian also ran cross country and was captain of team for two years, rowed crew, and played baseball.

    Brian chose The Citadel because he was interested in attending a southern school, and to pursue a career in the Army.
