Show 2: Mr. Tim Motsinger will tell us who he is, why he is running for Marion County Sheriff, why you should vote for him and what he plans to do if he is elected Sheriff. He has lived in Indianapolis the past twenty-seven years, primarily in Perry Township. He has seen the Circle City grow and evolve into the great place all Marion County residents take pride in calling their home. He has two daughters that he is proud to have raised in Marion County. He grew up in Seymour and attended the University of Indianapolis, graduating in 1983. His first position with law enforcement was as a patrolman for the Indianapolis Public Schools. In April of 1988, he began his service in the Indianapolis Police Department where he worked until the merger took place and he transferred to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. He is grateful for the opportunity to have served Marion County as a member of law enforcement for the past 26 years; and he looks forward to continuing on for many more years in public service. Mr. Motsinger has a wide range of law enforcement experience ranging from Patrolman, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, administration and investigations. He is a graduate of the prestigious FBI’s National Academy. Participation in the Academy is by invitation only and nominees must possess an excellent character and enjoy a reputation for professional integrity. He is a recipient of what was Indiana’s highest award, the Sagamore of the Wabash. Also, he was voted District 11 American Legion Police Officer of the Year.
