Friday from 2pm to 4pm CST is a barrage of all things relative to the upcoming Bradenton Blues Festival in Florida. Starting at two, female fiddler Ilana Katz Katz visits the program. Sharing a love of street performing, she has played subways, small cafes and several festivals. She is also a powerful painter, has performed with pros of all types and has also penned four novels. We love our free spirits, so she should be a load of lovely.
Thereafter, we welcome Johnette Islam and Paul Benjamin, who represent the business end of the Blues Festival. Johnette has an illustrious and impressive background in art and academics. However, her current crown lies as Executive Director of Realize Bradenton. This non profit reaps the rewards of the festival, in that it supports the youth, art and music programs that they offer. Paul Benjamin is the chairperson of the International Blues Foundation, which sponsors this yearly event. We shall chat on how they all help to keep art alive in Florida, as well as how the festival helps the area both economically and energetically.
Please tune in to support them!!
