Trust is the bottom line to transformation. that is one of the reasons why its easier to start a new church than to transform an existing one. it is also why long term pastorates make the most difference bill Easum

Lucy, Yes, in the webstore for www.easumbandy.com there is a resource called "Visioning Toolbox" that includes many resources, exercises, and Bible Study. Included in that is a preaching and Bible study plan related the process of building trust. Tom Bandy

Tom, in your resources I am assuming there are scripture suggestions for teaching and preaching to use during the Values/Beliefs/Visoning process. I am thinking if we don't use them--then we'll end up with either the obscure or the status quo

Church Talk

The church in North American appears to be in a bit of trouble. Let's face it, it doesn't have the greatest reputation; it's been losing as many as a million members a year; and it doesn't look like much is going change any time soon. Indeed, there are those who have predicted that the demise of the church is at hand. Not so. Drs. Bill Tenny-Brittian and Kris Tenny-Brittian have been working with churches for years, helping them become faithful disciple-making congregations. Their consultations and training events bring hope to beleaguered church leaders and renewed energy to congregations as they make a commitment to transforming lives. And now Bill and Kris are taking to the airwaves … well, the cyber ones anyway … with Church Talk, a live call-in internet radio talk show. Each show features a conversation about topics that make a difference to the church: leadership, disciple-making, evangelism, what's working, what's not, and much much more. Join them for Church Talk and help change your church, your community, and your world.

Here it is - the definitive Get Ready for the Holidays Church Checklist. Starting with "A is for Accessibility, B is for Bulletins, and C is for Coded Language" through the X, Y, "Z is for Zip" as in "Check for dead time in transitions," you'll get a reminder for every step in your holy-day season planning. Drs. Bill and Kris have done the research - tune in so you can ensure your congregation is ready for the season's visitors. (A downloadable handout will be available at www.Church-Talk.com the morning of the show.)

    Original Air Date:

    Apprenticing Leaders

Leaders are not meant to serve in the same place eternally (or even indefinitely). Without apprentices, congregations miss out on continuity and the quality that can come from trained leaders. Whether you agree or disagree that a leader cannot be a leader if s/he is not apprenticing at least one other person, join Drs. Bill and Kris for another lively and practical edition of Church-Talk.

  • Original Air Date:

    Key Transitions for Growing Pastors

Pastors never "arrive": they should always be in process and growing. And, as with all growth, there are some transitions that can make or break them. Join Drs. Kris and Bill this week to learn what those transitions are and how to make the most of them.

  • Original Air Date:

"Go ye" Means You ... Getting Out of the Office

The only thing that tends to grow when pastors spend most of their time in the office is their waistlines! Disagree? Want to reduce yours? Want to grow your church? Then tune-in to this week's program as Drs. Bill and Kris work to motivate and move you before getting out of their chairs and out where it really matters!
