Driving is a way for may of us to express our independence. We choose where and when we want to go somewhere. When we can drive, we do not have to depend on someone else to take us where we want to do. For some seniors, driving has become a dangerous activity. Either because poor physical mobility has made reaction time slow; or because judgment or decision making skills have slowed, making it difficult for them to react in the split second timing required for safe driving. Telling a loved one that they can't drive anymore is one of the hardest conversations anyone can have. Yan Ross and Matt Gurwell, understand how hard it is to have this conversation. They also understand how important it is for the senior to be a part of the decision making process. this is why they wrote the workbook: Beyond Driving With Dignity. Join Matt and I as we tackle this sensitive subject and give you pointers on how to approach the topic with your loved one. Show is hosted by: http://www.HeartsAndHomesForSeniors.com
