We are not against psychiatrists, however, many psychiatrists do not address or acknowledge the role of the spiritual realm in people’s lives. Jesus’ healing ministry addressed the spiritual realm, and to overcome any oppression we must look for spiritual answers that the psychiatrist usually do not provide, if they don’t have the training, equipment or wisdom that comes from the Word of God, the Bible, how can they provide spiritual answers, and we believe that most oppressions have a spiritual base, and if the person can overcome the spiritual battle, they will overcome the oppression (James 4:7).

To put the question simply, how can a psychiatrist help a Christian with a spiritual problem? Even a fine psychiatrist is not usually equipped or trained to provide spiritual solutions to a spiritual problem. Yet when we send children and adults to unbelieving psychiatrists, the church is subcontracting their work to people who are not equipped to deal with spiritual problems.
