What EXACTLY is being proposed in the latest Medicaid cuts proposal by Gov. Brewer of AZ, and what effect could they have on the poor, families, mentally-ill, jobs, economy, and overall health-care in the state? Find out from an expert in our interview with medical expert Dr. Weisbuch. Gov. Jan Brewer of AZ has already made serious cuts to the state's Medicaid budget, affecting thousands of families, children, mentally ill and disabled across the state. Gov. Brewer and the AZ Republican legislature even cut off funding for critically-ill patients awaiting transplants - 96 Arizonans will die without this coverage and two already have (view our blog for more info: http://christiandemocratsofamerica.ning.com/profiles/blogs/special-report-on-the-restore). A much larger budget cut proposal has been made by Gov. Brewer that would take the already cut funding to a new extreme (http://christiandemocratsofamerica.ning.com/forum/topics/az-announces-severe-medicaid). Dr. Jonathan Weisbuch, a graduate of MIT, NY University College of Medical and the Harvard School of Public Health, is a public health professional, a medical educator, and an active member of organized medicine, will be joining us on this episode to fill us in on the latest Medicaid cuts proposal and how it will affect the state and the people of AZ. Dr. Weisbuch has served in the AMA House of Delegates as both Alternate and Delegate representing American Public Health Physicians. He served in the California Medical Association House of Delegates, and is now a Board Member of the Maricopa County Medical Society. Dr. Weisbuch has published widely in the medical literature and speaks frequently at medical and scientific meetings on public health concerns and medical system reform. www.facebook.com/ChristianDemocrats http://twitter.com/ChristianDems http://christiandemocratsofamerica.ning.com
