I love the scriptures!!!
Sometimes the worlds events can bring me down but the scriptures, even the challenging ones bring me hope and joy and a reason to go on.
The first plague was the water changed to blood. But the magicians of Pharaoh's court could do the same thing! Did God know they would be able to do that? Of course he did! Do we know the thinking of God and understand his ways always? I don't believe so. Does that make his works not true? I do not believe so. I believe that makes him wiser and more knowledgeable and that brings me peace.
The treatment that the Savior met at the hands of those who were present in his final hours is abhorrent and shameful, especially so because it came from those who should have known the scriptures and the prophecies and the truth of who he was. But they had hardened their hearts and desired the acclaim of the people rather than to be true servants of the living God. I have heard it said that not many will do this but I disagree. I believe that there are those who know the Holy Ghost and then fight to quell the ability of others to hear him with intent thinking that they can somehow outsmart God.
These are people with cold and hard hearts, male and female, and while they may destroy many the Lord knows who they are and the nature of their hearts and he will deal with them justly. He also knows those who have committed great offense who would not have done so had they not been led astray and he will extend mercy to the extent that he is able.
Let us pray for our enemies as the Lord councils and as he did and give them into the Lord's hands to be judged in complete righteousness. Loving and forgiving is a much more pleasant place for me to be physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And in this place I can feel God's love and the presence of the Holy Ghost. This is where I want to be.
