I love the scriptures!!!
Imagine sitting in the house of Joseph. Three tables, one of the Egyptians, one for Joseph, and one for the brothers. Imagine the workings in the heart and mind of Joseph and the struggle he may have had as he fought his own emotions and considered how he should proceed with his brethren. Do you think that a man who had lived his life with his heart and mind focused on the will and teachings of God would turn so quickly to do that which served him and not God? I am not saying that he may not have had to work through it as we all do, but I believe he followed the prompting of the Holy Ghost as he had always done, as was manifested in him being able to interpret the dreams of the Pharaoh and to be placed in a position to be able to save the known world from starvation.
Christ said the scribes and the Pharisees were in Moses Seat, meaning they were in the place of those who were to instruct and to judge by the commandment of God and the people were to do as they instructed, but they were not to do as they did.
In the church and in the world there are those set up to instruct and to teach. We can follow the instructions of our leaders in that they lead us in righteousness and we must know the truth for ourselves in the scriptures through study and prayer so that we do not follow after behavior that is not according to God's will.
