I Love the scriptures!!!
in Matthew 18:5-6 We are councilled by Christ to receive others in the name of Jesus Christ, at the same time he told them to not cause them to stumble..offend is the word he used. I find the use of the particular words interesting. In Genesis also Jacob wrestled with God and he was made cripple by his hand. To be a constant reminder of who he was reliant on perhaps. Is this not an unusual thing to wrestle with the Lord physically? This reminds me of another who wrestled and was strong and that is Joseph Smith Jr. Does this mean you must be physically strong to be strong in the Lord, no I do not believe that, but I do believe that it means we need to be strong in character and even in that remember that our reliance is on God and not on the self and our strength alone.
The scriptures are alive and will give you answer to what you seek if you will put forth the effort and trust in the Lord. May I live by this I pray, in Jesus name, amen.
