I love the scriptures!!! 1 Nephi 17:41-55 Nephi testifying to his brothers of the power of God and the ability that God has to defend, discipline, and protect those who follow his will. It is manifested spiritually and physically as shown by the shaking that the brethren got days after this discourse. And then what did they want to do...fall down and worship him. We look to man for deliverance. Why? I think this signifies the church of the devil. We can either look to God or to man and I trust God a lot more than I trust man, way more than I trust myself. I know my weaknesses. Doctrine and Covenants 18:22-30 This is Christ telling us that there is one name only by which we are called and may enter into the kingdom of heaven and that is Jesus Christ. There is an order. There is a physical as well as a spiritual lineage and it is through Jesus Christ and no other. Any other light or guide that is true will lead you to Christ. I bear witness of this will all my being. Moses 5:4 That Adam and Eve could only hear the voice of the Lord from a distance, from the Garden of Eden for they were shut out of the presence of the Lord. Imagine having to speak to everyone through a wall and never being in the presence of another. There is something real and significant in an eternal sense about the physical presence of something. There is a lot to be said for visual (movies, film), audio (radio, phone), but they differ from being actually in the presence of that which you wish to experience. So it with God. Through the veil of mortality we can only catch glimpes of what it must be like if we were in his presence. If we had only one second of memory of this I believe we would do anything in our power to be in his presence. I testify that as we attune our lives to his commandments the Holy Ghost allows us to have fleeting moments of this that are nearly tangible and create a longing to return that no other pursuit can fulfill. In Jesus name, amen. Bye for now, Christa-Ann.
