I love the scriptures!! 1Nephi 21 (see also Isaiah 49) We read verses 1-9. These passages are speaking of all of the house of Israel throughout the entire earth. We read a lot in the footnotes and found a great of symbolism in these words. I shared how you do not always need to understand all that is being said and even if it just seems confusing that is ok. Each time you read it you will gain a bit more understanding and it is in the "possibilities" that the Holy Ghost may teach you and help you understand his word. We see how as we recognize God in our lives and put the gospel of Jesus Christ into action in our lives we glorify God, vs 3. With vs 9 we see a glorious promise that those who sit in darkness, as prisoners to sin might be led to the gospel and the teachings of Christ so that they may feast upon the word and have a bit of rest in the pasture of choosing the right or making good choices. We spoke how "high places" may also mean the temple and the renewal, enlightenment and peace that we feel there. The footnote suggested that this may also refer to when Christ went to the spirit world after his death on the cross and how he taught them and they were freed from the bondage of not knowing the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel such gratitude at knowing that these words have been preserved for us. Isaiah has some of the richest symbolism for understanding the gospel and Christ, while he walked on the earth said we need to study it. Till we meet again, may his Spirit be with us to guide and direct as we listen to the still small voice and keep the commandments of God. blessings...Gramma Ann
