I love to read the scriptures. I had a hard day today and I was not feeling good. But the scriptures can lift my day and give me courage and peace and strength in a way that nothing else can. I pray that your burdens will be lifted and the weight not so heavy as you come to feel the love that Heavenly Father has for you and the faith that he has in you to be able to do the very things he sent you here to do. Even when it seems as if you must be failing, you can know that his purposes are not the same as mans and that his work is done by small and simple things. This way the glory is his and we can be blessed in knowing we are his children. Review: These were some tough issues...Lot's wife is left as a pillar of salt, his daughters lying with him to become pregnant (JST tells us this was wickedness before God) and then Christ's yoke being easy. Do we, in our hearts long for the ways of the world? Do we long to fit in or dwell on past relationships or activities while we appear to be moving into healthier places? Is this walking with God? These are serious questions we need to ask ourselves. Putting on a yoke requires walking with the Savior in every way possible. Christ promises rest for our souls and a light burden. When the Holy Ghost is our guide and our hearts, minds, and hands are committed to Christ, his Spirit will lift us. This is a promise and when we find ourselves fretting, like I do which is manifested when my shingles flares, we need to remember this promise and hold fast faithfully to his precepts leaving all cares, worries, relationships, and concerns for the world in his hands. He has overcome and he will do justly and mercifully to all. This is a knowledge and faith we can walk in daily that will help us face whatever comes our way. Now, with that comes all possible action to assist and pray for one another. God is in charge and I am so grateful for that witness and the scriptures that testify of him, in Jesus name, amen. :) Christa-Ann
