The Great Patriot  

I am a father, a real american patriot, and a regular joe who feels like his country has been stolen by those who do not serve americas purposes and the purposes of the people but serve their own purposes instead.

    A founding upon Godly Principal, and its undoing by misrepresentation

     Our Founding Fathers felt the role of religion was supremely attached to the structure of the unique civilization which they desired to emerge as the first free people in modern times. Our Founders felt that the role of religion would be as important in our day as it was in their own.

        In 1787, the year the Constitution was written and approved by Congress, Congress also passed what is famously known as the Northwest Ordinance. In this ordinance they expressed the very important need to teach religion and morality in schools.

        In Article 3 of this ordinance it states that:

    "Religion, morality, and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged
    ."

    As a result, education in America was to include in its chief responsibilities these three subjects which are defined as:

    Religion: A fundamental system of beliefs concerning man's origin and relationship to the cosmic universe as well as hid relationship with his fellow men.

    Morality: a standard of behavior distinguishing right from wrong.

    Knowledge: an intellectual awareness and understanding of established facts that relate to all human experience or inquiry (i.e., science, history, geography)


        After establishing that "religion" and "morality" were essential to "good government and the happiness of mankind" our Founding Fathers desired to exclude biases, and creeds of individual religious denominations to make the teaching of religion a cultural bond rather than a dividing tool. As a result, Thomas Jefferson wrote a "Bill for Establishing Elementary Schools in Virginia" which states:
        
        "No religious reading, instruction, or exercise shall be prescribed or practiced inconsistent with the tenents of any religious sect or denomination."

         In an effort to state the existence of universal fundamentals of religion that are acceptable to be taught in schools, our Founding Fathers gave descriptions of their basic religious beliefs. In response to this, Benjamin Franklin summarized these fundamentals in a letter he wrote to Ezra Stiles, president of Yale University in which he states:
     
         "Here is my creed: I believe in one God, the Creator of the Universe. That he governs it by his providence. That he ought to be worshipped. That the most acceptable service we render to him is in doing good to his other children. That the soul of man is immortal, and will be treated with justice in another life respecting its conduct in this. These I take to be the fundamental points in all sound religion." 

    This left us with the five fundamental points our Founding Fathers deemed necessary to be taught in our schools.

    1. There exists a Creator who made all things, and that mankind should recognize and worship him.

    2. The Creator has revealed a moral code of behavior for happy living which distinguishes right from wrong.

    3. The Creator holds mankind responsible for the way they treat each other.

    4. All mankind live beyond this life.

    5. In the next life mankind is judged for their deeds in this life.

         These five fundamental points are found in almost all of the writings of our Founding Fathers. These five points are referred to as the "founding religion of America", and they deemed these points so important in the "good government and the happiness of mankind" that they wanted these points fundamental points taught in our public schools.

         Thomas Jefferson, argueably one this nations greatest Presidents, referred to these beliefs as the "principles in which God has united us all."

         Samuel Adams stated that these basic beliefs which make up "the religion of America",and is the religion of all mankind.

         John Adams called these fundamentals the "general principles" on which America had been founded.

         George Washington stated that "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensible supports.....Who that is a sincere friend to it can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?" he went even further  to say that "in vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness [religion and morality]."

    Separation of Church and State 

         In 1802, while Thomas Jefferson was serving in the Virginia legislature he initiated a bill to bring about a day of fasting and prayer for the state, but later when he became President, Jefferson said there was no authority in the federal government to proclaim religious holidays. He wrote a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in January 1, 1802 that stated his position and stated that the Constitution had created a "wall of separation" between church and state.
          As a result of this letter, the supreme court has used this metaphor as a means to meddle in religious issues arising in the states it oversees those issues in. Not only has the supreme court decided to take jurisdiction in such issues, they actually twisted the original intent of the "wall of separation" to enable them to force states to take a hands off position towards religion, when it was originally intended to only be applied to the federal government. This has resulted in a veritable domino effect of misuses and disgustingly manipulative efforts to eradicate all aspects of religion from the public forum by athiests, and by political elements like liberals, and progressives who use it to water down, and slowly erode the elements of our founding documents that gave America its firm foundation of freedom and power to the people. Our Founders are undoubtedly rolling over in their graves as a result of this obscenely manipulative misrepresentation of that simple letter from Jefferson. 

         As a result of "separation of church and state" our schools can no longer teach about religious principle or morality, and I and many others like me feel that it has caused the degradation of American society, and many of the problems we face in our society today.

         There is a wealth of information out there to support all the information I have provided here. All one must do is go in search of it. Sadly, many rely upon biased ideological entities who desire to mislead and erase knowledge of such things.

         Most of the material in this post were found in the writings of our founders, and in books I have read. I implore you to learn more about our Founders, and investigate for yourselves. Be armed with this knowledge and use it to teach others you know who are misled.
