Join the lovely ladies of Chocolate Sex and the City as they welcome Mr. Kenneth Cohen, Sr., President of the Northeast Queens Branch of the NAACP.  Mr. Cohen will discuss the following:

On March 13, 1943 African Americans met at the Flushing YMCA to charter the Flushing Branch of the NAACP. Since that time the Branch has staged sit-ins at the Woolworth counter in Flushing, fought for fair affordable housing, fought against eminent domain of the African American Community of Flushing, fought for quality education, jobs, quality health care, fought against police brutality, fought for economic diversity, and fought against stop & frisk.

The Branch expanded in 2002 and became the Northeast Queens Branch continuing the history and activism of the past.

In addition, Mr. Cohen will also discuss the upcoming 70th Anniversary of the Northeast Queens Branch of the NAACP.  So make sure to log on, call in and join us for an eventful and educational evening.
