  Vanessa Miller of Dayton, Ohio is a best-selling author, playwright, and motivational speaker. Her stage productions include: Get You Some Business, Don’t Turn Your Back on God, and Can’t You Hear Them Crying. Vanessa is currently in the process of turning the novels in the Rain Series into stage productions.
  
  

  Vanessa has been writing since she was a young child. When she wasn’t reading, writing poetry, short stories, stage plays and novels consumed her free time. However, it wasn’t until she committed her life to the Lord in 1994 that she realized all gifts and anointing come from God. She then set out to write redemption stories that glorified God.

  To date, Vanessa has written the Rain Series and the Storm Series. The books in the Rain Series are: Former Rain, Abundant Rain, and Latter Rain. The books in the Storm Series are: Rain Storm and Through The Storm. These books have received rave reviews, winning Best Christian Fiction Awards and topping numerous Bestseller’s lists. Vanessa believes that each book in The Rain and Storm Series will touch readers across the country in a special way. It is, after all her God-given destiny to write and produce plays and novels that bring deliverance to God’s people.

  Vanessa self-published her first three books, then in 2006 she signed a five-book deal with Urban Christian/Kensington. Her books can now be found in Wal-Mart, most all major bookstores, including African American bookstores and online bookstores such as Amazon.com.   

  Vanessa is a dedicated Christian and devoted mother. She graduated from Capital University with a degree in Organizational Communication. In 2007 Vanessa was ordained by her church as an exhorter. Which of course, Vanessa believes was the right position for her because God has called her to exhort readers and to help them rediscover their place with the Lord. 

  A perfect day for Vanessa is one that affords her the time to curl up with a good book. She is currently working on the Live Right or Die Trying Series. The books in this series, although they can be categorized as suspense thrillers, will still have elements of God’s redemptive power throughout the stories.  She is also preparing the stage production for the Former Rain novel.

  Why is it that some women seem to sail through life successfully while others struggle just to get up in the morning? We’ll be exploring this important topic in future posts, but here are some of our initial thoughts.

  1. Triumphant women make the most of their gifts. You don’t have to be the smartest or most beautiful woman in the world, but you do have to work with what you’ve got. And you can’t be afraid to let your light shine. Whether it’s physical beauty, intelligence, creativity, emotional or spiritual genius, everyone has a unique gift. It’s what you do with your gift that matters. Some women reading these words have yet to realize the power of their gift, but there’s no time like the present to begin developing and leveraging your gift.

  2. Success is a state of mind, and triumphant women define success on their own terms. What’s your definition of success? Make your definition work for you!

  3. The spirit of the overcomer is strong in triumphant women. They simply refuse to let obstacles get in the way of their dreams.

  4. The self-esteem of triumphant women is really about confidence. Too often self-esteem is a catch-all for “feeling good about yourself,” but confidence is built on discipline, accomplishment, and learning from past failures.

  Where were YOU on 9/11 in 2001? Author Aaron D. Taylor reflects

  9/11 affected everyone. How do we view those of different religion today. Aaron D. Taylor came face to face in a hard seat in a warehouse with a radical Jihadist.
  
  Thus he wrote a book about it: In Alone with a Jihadist: A Biblical Response to Holy War, missionary and evangelist Aaron Taylor details his meeting with a militant jihadist named Khalid.
  
  
  
  Out of this one conversation, Taylor came to the revelation that Christians are taught in the Bible to live outside of the policies mandated by government and instead practice the philosophy of pacifism.
  
  Once an advocate of military aggression and the just cause of violence on behalf of fellow Christians, Taylor now works toward his goals of promoting brotherhood and a love for others as modeled by Jesus Christ

  Meet Aaron D. Taylor: Alone with a Jihadist

  About Aaron D. Taylor
  Aaron D. Taylor was born in 1978 and grew up in Jefferson County Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. When Aaron was 15 years old, he took his first missionary trip to Poland, shortly after the fall of communism. It was there that he dedicated his life to world evangelism. Since graduating from high school in 1996, Aaron has traveled the world many times over. His journeys have taken him to India, China, Vietnam, Laos, Tibet, Cambodia, Thailand, Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Brazil, Grenada, Pakistan, England, the Israeli occupied territory of the West Bank…..and this list continues to grow. Aaron is a graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute located in Dallas, Texas. It was there that he met his wife Rhiannon in the third-year School of Missions Program. Together they have lived overseas and have planted a church in the country of Senegal. The happy couple is in the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia. In 2006 Aaron was asked to participate in a feature length documentary examining the role of religion in the post 9/11 clash between the West and Islam.
