I am honored to have served as a Councilwoman here in city of Southfield for over twelve years, and I am committed to ensuring Southfield’s future. I love our great city, and my family and I have made Southfield our home for over twenty-two years, and it is important to me and you that our city remains vibrant, strong, and a premier city in this region.
Despite these tough economic times, leadership, vision and determination is vital to our future. Securing our tax base without any additional taxes is necessary. Southfield cannot suffer any erosion of our tax base and must work hard to help our business community stay strong and vibrant. Neighborhood stabilization and reinvesting in our community promises a stronger community and a stronger Southfield. The delivery of city services police, fire, and road improvements and repairs are critical to the vitality of our city.
Collaborations and partnerships are necessary with our schools and academic community to prepare our children in technology, higher education, and the workforce. Partnering with Oakland County on key issues in our community is necessary. Lastly, the Mainstreet Recovery Plan (economic stimulus package) greatly effects all of us. Positioning our city to develop our “go green” initiatives, securing jobs for our community, helping our seniors, youth and veterans will keep our city strong and secure our city’s future.
