Meet Kerika Fields & Dr. Cindy Trimm

Meet Kerika Fields, author of "He's Gone...He's Back"

"I was inspired to write this book because of all I've been through and all that we as women go through in relationships. I looked around at the  books about breakups--the funny books, the sad books, the witty books, the edgy books-- but there were no holistic books on breakups.  And  so I  went ahead and wrote  a holistic book on breaking up that I think happens to be funny, sad, witty and edgy, too!" reveals author Kerika Fields about her debut book.

“I am extremely  excited  about the release of He's Gone...You're Back!,” says Kerika. “I look forward to sharing my hard-earned life experiences with women  who are seeking support in moving past life’s inevitable losses and disappointments. I hope my book’s information and insight will inspire readers to let go of past pain and move forward with their lives in positive and productive ways.”

Kerika Fields is a writer whose articles examine the arts along with social and cultural issues.  Her work has appeared in The Amsterdam News, BELLE Magazine, Black Elegance,Black Issues Book Review, Caribbean Life, City and Suburban Styles, Impact, The Source, Spice!, Sisters In Style, The New York World, and NRG magazine.

Fields is also a photojournalist who has covered entertainment and corporate events for over a decade.  Her keen, creative photographer’s eye has been utilized by The American Black Film Festival, The Brooklyn Children's Museum, ESSENCE Communications, The Studio Museum of Harlem, Film Life, Inc., The National Urban League, The Ron H. Brown Foundation, Uniworld Inc., GQ Media & Public Relations, Inc., Motorola, Lincoln and numerous others.

Her images have been published in national publications and appear in the Deborah Willis photography book, BLACK: A Celebration of a Culture (Hylas Publishing, 2004) and I GOT YOUR BACK: A Father and Son Keep It Real About Love, Fatherhood, Family, and Friendship by Eddie Levert, Sr. and Gerald Levert with Lyah Beth LeFlore (Harlem Moon, 2007).

Fields’ photographs have been exhibited at The African American Museum of Philadelphia, The Brooklyn Historical Society,  The Corridor Gallery,  Brookly Public Library , 40 Acres Art Gallery in Sacramento, The Leica Gallery,  and the Mckenna Museum in New Orleans. She is a founding member of the She Shootin’ Photography Collective.

In 2002, Kerika Fields founded the A.R.R.C. Foundation (Ayofemi Richards Robert Conner Foundation)  after the untimely deaths of two young family members. The 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization is committed to enhancing the lives of underprivileged youth via scholarships, job/internship information, and access to the arts.

An individual with many interests, she says her ultimate goal is to inspire people. “Growing up I have faced many challenges but I never allowed them  to  deter me from my goals and dreams. The publication of this book is a dream come true and I intend to continue writing and doing all that I do way into the future. I hope that by living my dreams I will inspire others to do the same.”

Kerika Fields lives in Brooklyn, NY with her daughter Skye West.

“Commanding Your Morning” (Review by Cherly Pope) in the Michigan Chronicle

How do you start your day? Many people watch the morning news or read the local headlines, thus allowing negativity and turmoil to prevail their thoughts. But there is a better way to embark on the daily ritual of life. In “Commanding Your Morning” (Charisma House), Dr. N. Cindy Trimm authenticates that the power of life and death is in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).

This may be the Christian version of the best-selling New York’s book, “The Secret.” Trimm said, “We define our lives by every thought and word...it all starts with what we think and say.” In the first chapter, she uses the analogy of the law of attraction to drive the idea that what we think or believe in our spirit is manifest tangibly. She gives Scripture to back up every claim.

The powerful evangelist, who has spoken at conferences hosted by popular televangelists T.D. Jakes and Juanita Bynum, applies personal relationships with friends to cement the reality of God’s love and His tremendous blessings. In one instance, a friend was experiencing financial challenges but was delivered from the overwhelming stress only after she spoke freedom from her situation and allowed God to work it out.

“Commanding Your Morning” taps into the need people have for feeling that God is in control of their days and for overcoming the hindrances and dead ends so often encountered from the devil’s influence in their lives.

“Commanding Your Morning” is an inspiring and thought-provoking read. The chapters are short and easy to read. The book helps you identify how spiritual thoughts and words can change lives. The foreword is by best-selling author Dr. Myles Monroe with endorsements by other popular ministry leaders such as Paula White and Judy Jacobs.

Trimm, who was recently cited in Gospel Today magazine as one of the “new Kingdom voices,” is a sought-after motivational speaker, preacher, prosperity coach and former senator in Bermuda.

She also has sold more than 110,000 copies of her self-published book, “The Rules of Engagement, Book I, II and III.”
