When we think of the word Criminal many of us will immediatly in a word Associeted way, think of the image of a black man... Why is this? We've been taught that Black = Bad in a variety of differnt ways!
In the well known movie called Star Wars, the Dark side was evil! And, the main villian in the flick doned all black and even had a distinctive voice of a Black man! We've also been treated to a bevy of negative Afrikan images and steriotypes within the media, in books and on TV...
But is this the truth? How did stolen Afrikans, Kidnapped from our lands, robbed of our culture, names and our spirituality, become the very definition of what it means to be a criminal?
