    Not Just A Glass of Wine

    A few months ago, before starting the "All About Wine" show on BTR, I always thought a glass of wine was just that.... wine.  You know, you open a bottle, pour, re-cork the bottle and drink.  But I discovered there is much more to wine than that.

    ...I discovered this after the first episode of "All About Wine", a weekly show we do here on BlogTalkRadio with host Ron of Florida Estates Winery in Land O' Lakes.  Ron shares his experience and extensive knowledge during this one-hour broadcast.

    Topics have included "Wine Bottles" - I never realized bottles had names and there were different sizes.  Other topics such as "Merlot", "Chardonnay" and "Cabernet", with so many styles and uses, not to mention their rich history.  More recently, Ron discussed wines from Spain and Italy - with so many wine-making regions, regulations and styles.  We won't mention the pronunciations, though.  That was understandably not easy.

    Of course, some topics are a lot to cover in just one hour.  Such as "Grape Varietals".  One show just covered most of the white varieties.  The next show covered the remaining and started on the red varietals.

    Listen to the show, chat with us in the chat room and, better yet, call with your questions or comments.  Add your own experience to the mix.  You will definitely learn something during the hour-long program...as I have - it's not just a glass of wine!
