Join Joanne Westwood of Westwood Virtual Associates and her guest Jodi Fritch. In 1990, Dick Fitton, then President/CEO of what is now First Financial Bank, brought together a committee of 100 individuals from the Hamilton area to develop a cultural action plan. Under the direction of a national arts consultant, the group’s findings concluded the community needed an arts facility, and needed a strong arts education component. This coincided with Hamilton’s bicentennial, in 1991, so the Bicentennial Commission decided that an arts facility would be their main legacy. The Fitton Center opened in 1993 and the Carruthers Center for Arts and Technology addition was opened in celebration of our 10th anniversary in 2003. We’re primarily an arts education facility, but we’re also involved in performances and exhibitions.
