A lot of changes have happened lately and the biggest one involves returning to school. I was a high school art teacher nine years ago and I'm being called back...this time to add to my education and become a special ed teacher w/a specialty in Autism. I am combing through paperwork, writing admissions essays, and offering it all up, hoping for the best outcome (acceptance)...so that I can start right away this fall! The deadline is July 31...and I was only led in this direction a couple weeks ago. Gotta love how quickly the Universe bends over backward when we find what we are meant to do. Preparations are already taking my energy away from being online (I'll be checking in a couple times a week but not much more), and while I thought I could just shift to another time slot, it seems that is not the path for me. So for now, the archives will have to do...and an occasional posting on www (dot) chakra-girl (dot) com ! If you would like to be on the email list that I use to send out Chakra Girl updates, send a li'l note saying "add" in the subject to chakragirlradio (at) gmail (dot) com. Also, feel free to spread the news and the email to anyone you know who is interested or has been following me. And, of course, the age of development of this Chakrum, the parts of the physical body affected, and its manifestation emotionally, behaviorally, and physically.

    After the Show: Solar Plexus

    As this show came to a close, I realized I need to make the segments longer to accomodate the information and callers. 

    RE: Victim-consciousness, abuse survival: 
    I was talking about how to handle being victimized, having your power taken away by an abuser/oppressor, and I ended up disengaging from the topic when I went to take the call (~38 minutes in).  My deepest apologies for doing so. 

    Victim-consciousness is the state of mind you have as a result of being forced into a place of powerlessness so that your whole self is expecting to be re-victimized on a regular basis.  This is a major, common by-product of having your solar plexus energy forced into imbalance by an abuser or abusive situation.  I suggested reaching out and asking for help, then I took the phone call.  My intention was to elaborate and really explore this energy, including offering a resource. 

    Asking for help is not easy and for you it may be unsafe at the moment.  There is a nationwide hot line for rape, abuse and incest survivors (1.800.656.HOPE - www.rainn.org) to call to get help anonymously and I recommend reaching out that way first if your present situation is too dangerous but you still feel compelled to try.  You do not have to be a survivor of sexual abuse, specifically, to get help from RAINN.  They will help with whatever situation you are surviving in.  I hope this information is helpful.

    As for the next few weeks of CGR?  The more energy centers I talk about, the more information is going to compound - they do not stand alone but, rather, build upon each other.

    Next week will be the beginning of 90 minute segments of Chakra Girl Radio - we will be talking about the Heart Chakra:  self-love, relationships, co-dependency, and intimacy!

    After the Heart is the Throat, 3rd Eye, and Crown.  Then we launch into seeing energy everyday, how to work with it, and how to use it to change our lives!

    Third Chakrum - Solar Plexus

    This week we will spend time exploring the nuances of the Third Chakrum: your source of personal power. We will talk about the age when it is in active development, the symbolic nature of its color - yellow - and the wide range of emotions and behaviors that are fueled when energy in this Chakra is balanced and when it is imbalanced. Chief among these behaviors is arrogance. Feelings of anger and rage are also manifestations of this Chakrum's energy imbalance.

    Second Chakrum: Sacral/Belly

    This week we will expore the Second Chakrum, located at the belly (front of the body) and the sacrum bone (back of body). This Chakrum is often referred to as the Chakrum of Sex and Money. This is a good place to start, though it is just the tip of the iceberg. We will explore the ramification of energy imbalance in this Chakrum as well as the ways to practice supporting its energy and strengthening its power in your energy body. A couple of the primary emotions created by energy imbalance in this Chakrum are shame and embarassment. Lump them atop the insecurity that comes with the Root Chakra (last week's segment) and you have the makings of low self-esteem, negative body-image, among other emotional issues. We will talk about how these imbalances manifest further through behaviors and physical illness and disease. You will also learn specific ways to nurture, heal, and strengthen the energy in this Chakrum.

    After the Show: Root Chakrum

    Next week, 2nd Chakra:  Sacral/Belly Chakra - It is often called the Chakra of Sex and Money...it is that and so much more!

    During this segment I talked about how to work with the energy of the Root Chakra - how to strengthen it, how to heal. 

    The Chakras are lined up in rainbow colors.  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Violet/Ultraviolet/White. 

    The color of the Root is Red.  The easiest thing to do is surround yourself with reds.  Red candles, clothes, food, draw or paint red pictures, etc. 

    The next is to journal.  I've found that asking my energy body what it needs to heal never gives me 'straight' answers.  But everything is connected, so ask a question and be prepared for a million possible, seemingly unrelated, answers.  Write it down, get it off your mind, off your chest, off your energy body!  By doing that, you are uncovering your Root Chakra!

    When I don't know what to do but I have GOT to change a situation that is not working for me anymore (doesn't make me happy, doesn't bring me joy - in fact, it makes me miserable...), I do three things.  First, I offer up gratitude for my life.  If I wasn't experiencing that awful thing then I wouldn't have this chance for growth and evolution.  Second, I surrender.  The one thing I've learned in this process is that I know nothing.  I'm not the expert on my healing process, I'm not the expert on how best to live my life.  I receive guidance through my gut feeling, my intuition.  That is not my brain.  Third, I ask for guidance.  Personally, I no longer belong to a church.  I find God in nature.  I offer it up to the sky, the wind, the birds...things that can take my wish and bring it to the greater Universe.  That way, it is out of me and on its way to where the Divine can do something about it.

    I offer things up...
    I did not know how to do it at first because I was far removed from my Catholic upbringing, but it turns out that energy is all about thoughts and actions, so
    I found out pretty quickly that by simply thinking about making changes, that
    changes started happening.  The more I acted toward bigger ideas,
    like 'I keep having the same conversation with my friend and it always leaves me feeling badly about myself and I want to change so I feel better...'  Within a couple days, she started acting differently toward me - compelling me to respond in a different way.  In hindsight, I realized that simply by wanting things to change and being willing to change them - w/out knowing HOW, just deeply desiring change in my heart -  I had offered that up and the energy in the Universe (God) had responded by shifting the energy in that relationship.  So, instead of being lazy about it and figuring that anytime I changed my mind, the Universe would 'take care of me', I decided to take responsibility and be respectful - nowadays I try to remember to start with gratitude.  For me, I use language - I actually spell it out in my head or out loud (if I'm alone I'm not self-conscious) 'I am so grateful for my life experience - for all of it - and I now don't know what to do about this __ situation...I surrender (this is a powerful idea, powerful energy) and ask for guidance.
