Have you been wondering how not to make marketing blunders when it comes to your website and online?
At this very moment over 539 million searches have taken place on Google. Many searchers aren’t reaching millions of websites because of marketing blunders when it comes to marketing online.
It was in June of 2005 when I learned that there was a lot I didn’t know, which made perfect sense to why I wasn’t getting much web traffic, books sales, let alone subscribers to my newsletter. It was frustrating. But I saw that there was a lot more to being online than having a website.
With the growth of the internet, consisting of over 1.6 billion users in the world a lot has changed, which requires a lot more. So let’s touch on a few marketing blunders made daily across the World Wide Web.
1. Not using keywords or keyword phrases on website, articles, blogs and all content posted on the web.
2. Focused on the pretty and snazzy website, rather than a customer friendly website.
3. Missing contact information on website: Phone Number, Email Address and Mailing Address
4. Blogs: Forcing readers to login to leave a comment
5. Failing to collect names and emails of web visitors
6. Free websites with banner ads
7. Too many distractions on website that takes visitors away
8. Not investing in a domain name
9. Poor quality of images on sites
10. Social Network Sites: Selling more than providing value to the community
11. Missing the opportunity to brand product, service and expertise
12. Missing a brand
13. Not having a personal or business website
14. Focusing on the sale over building a relationship
15. Inconsistent activity with marketing online and offline
16. Seeking the cheapest route
17. Slow to act and implement
18. Not multi-marketing
19. Not getting out of the way to receive help
20. Doing the same thing daily and seeking a new result
21. *Right here insert a marketing blunder you’ve seen or supported. Share it right below to help others.*
Now, this is my subjective list, but it’s a list to get you thinking and moving. There are so many blunders out there and not even I can catch them all. I know I have been a victim to many of the 20 I’ve shared with you today.
Add to the online website marketing blunder list. More importantly, stop making the blunders to help improve your sales, traffic and online results.

Is it possible to capture targeted web traffic or targeted Twitter followers with the continuous growth of internet users and social network sites? Do you know there are over 1.6 billion internet users in the world today? And it is growing by the second.
With the explosion of social media, the focus for many online users is to tap into these heavy traffic communities to build a following. The question is this: How much viable time should one put into growing followers?
Per Twitterholic Top 25 Twitter users, here are the top five:
Top 5
1. CNN Breaking News - 614,003 (followers) 2. President Barack Obama - 542,313 (followers) 3. Britney Spears - 518,638 (followers) 4. Twitter - 502,210 (followers) 5. Ashton Kutcher - 452,872 (followers)
These are some extraordinary numbers. When it comes to book marketing and internet marketing it still remains the same, traffic generation. The percentage of web traffic generated from the social media giant Twitter varies from one user to the next. People fall prey to many of the daily new ploys that promises more Twitter followers by the truckloads.
- 400 Free Followers a day - New Tool to Get More Twitter Followers - 250 New Followers in a day - Become a Member and Get Tons of Traffic - 1,000 Followers in 2 Days
What many fail to take account of is the lack of targeted Twitter followers. Let’s say you are a romance author and you want more followers: How do you engage each of your followers to really determine if they are fans of romance literature? Maybe they follow you with hopes you will follow them in return.
It is as though many have lost or never gained the true premise of being online, traffic — targeted traffic. The internet is the fastest growing vehicle today. It has afforded to many the ability to be able to achieve some extraordinary successes. It is those who recognize that targeted traffic, which means capturing the attention of those who want, need, and desire your product or service, is the pivotal element to being online.
Today, many entrepreneurs, authors, and small businesses must take time to find where their true target audience can be found across the World Wide Web.
Sometimes Twitter can be a place where you have just finished networking and you are wondering what to do with all of those business cards.

Website Makeover Workshop Launches the Authority Site to Assist Authors and Writers to Take Control of Their Literary Success Online
Website Makeover Workshop: Empowering Authors and Writers with Online Book Marketing through Free Articles, Videos, and Writers’ Resources
It was reported in June, 2007 by SoftPedia.com that approximately 100,000 websites are added to the internet every day. The competition on the internet is fierce, and every author must remove any road blocks that may be causing them disparaging results online with their websites.
Author and website makeover trainer C.F. Jackson launched Website Makeover Workshop with the purpose of helping fellow authors and writers achieve greater results online. In 2005, C.F. Jackson learned for herself that a website needs the keys to success, including more than a book cover, book excerpt, and a “please sign my guest book” section.
With all the information gathered over a five-year timeframe, Ms. Jackson offers applicable and practical techniques and strategies for any author or writer to easily implement. No one has to be a web design guru to create an effective web presence.
Since the launching of Website Makeover Workshop, the success of many authors has been very rewarding. One of the successes is shared by author Savannah J. Once implementing a few of the strategies from Website Makeover Workshop, Savannah J. says, "Since then I have had some visitors who've come to my website, signed my guest book, and told me how informative they now find my website. And how exciting it was to be able to read the excerpt on the front page, and because of that they decided to buy the book."
Website Makeover Workshop is designed to provide resources, tools, and workshops to meet the needs of any author or writer. The launching of the Website Makeover Workshop Authority Site provides a central location to gain knowledge to help with booking marketing and learning how to sell books on the internet.
Website Makeover Workshop offers free: - Articles - Book Marketing Online: “How-To” Videos - Writers’ Resources - Website Design: Tutorials
Website Makeover Workshop’s mission is to help authors and writers put the pieces together to achieve online success.

MySpace.com has taken social networking by storm. Of those who are on the internet, statistics reports approximately 64% of the internet population visits MySpace.
Without a doubt MySpace.com is the granddaddy of social networking, also known as Web2.0. Even with rivals such as a Facebook.com close behind, it’s MySpace that everyone is quick to ask, “Are you on MySpace?”
MySpace has become the home for many authors and writers. Per Comscore, MySpace is attracting approximately 115 million visitors per month. In essence, it can become overwhelming to exude ones uniqueness at times.
Many authors and writers, as well as the entrepreneur refuse to see this social network for what it is; which leads many into failing to leverage this into greater results.
Let’s take it by play!
New fiction author creates a MySpace account within a community of millions. These are authors, writers, artists, students, producers, teachers, career professionals, speakers, entrepreneurs, network marketers or singles wanting to date.
Now what does this sound like? Happy hour, how about a night club?
Once stepping into a cornucopia the author sets out to make himself or herself known within a segment of the MySpace world. How? Creating a profile to express and share who they are. Whatever content, videos, or images selected for their profile it becomes more. It’s no longer just a profile it’s a quote unquote “website”.
The author builds a strong friend base and rapport on MySpace. Yet, there are others in the two million plus populated social network community fighting for attention through bulletin posts, blog posts, events or comments.
How can the author move their strong friend base to a more controlled environment?
Invite them to a place of business.
MySpace is an extraordinary community to meet, network, and communicate, however, the author must begin branding himself or herself. Right now, the MySpace brand is known worldwide. How about the author?
The question is how to begin?
As an author and a writer, the first step is to create a presence on the internet through taking ownership of internet real estate by:
- Owning a domain name / URL.- Creating a website (Business Office)
Second is to take this new power and:
- Market your website through the strong friend base- Take the networking from MySpace to your space- Generate a following outside of MySpace
Third is to build a brand:- Your website is the leading site to send prospective customers- In all content, online, and offline include your domain name
Major segments of the business world use MySpace.com because of its ability to create a community online in one central location, which mirrors society. These corporations and businesses are bringing their brand onto MySpace for the soul purpose to craft awareness of their product or service.
Uniquely, companies have come to MySpace.com to mingle, network, and market, with the expectation they’ll generate new traffic to their website. And it’s this model the author and writer must create for himself or herself.
Many authors and writers feel fearful of the internet. With so much taking place on the worldwide web, they lack knowledge and resources.
As many authors continue to take control of their literary career it’s time for many to leverage what they’ve created on the granddaddy of social network, MySpace.com, to take their ultimate goals and dreams to another level.
Author and website makeover trainer, C.F. Jackson recognized the missing piece for many authors and writers and launched Website Makeover Workshop. This is a place where authors and writers can come to learn more, to better position themselves on the internet.
At www.WebsiteMakeoverWorkshop.com there are workshops (group and individual), resources, and a tutorial program. All are geared to meet the time restraints life has on any author or writer. They’re assisting authors to leverage their presence on MySpace.com to create greater success on their own space.
