Young Men 4 Christ (YM4C) began their music ministry in the early summer of 2012, on a quest to fulfill God’s work of touching people’s lives with our Gospel music. Eric Johnson Sr. and Franklin McGee Jr. are the coordinators of the group. Minister Eric Johnson Jr.(lead/background singer). Minister Johnson,(age 19)recently joined the ministry. Lance McGee III( lead/background singer) is 13 yr old, making him the youngest member of the group,and the son of Franklin McGee Jr. Franklin McGee III is a student at the Marvin Winans Academy of Performing Arts. Davonte Harris (15 years old) grandson of the founder of Detroit quartet group “The Trumpelettes”.  All members of Young Men 4 Christ are Detroit natives, born and raised.Young Men 4 Christ is active in the local community. December of 2012 YM4C put on their first charity event where they hosted and performed along with several other local Gospel groups, to raise toys and canned goods for children in the local community. All items were donated to a local charity organization, SASYO (Sow a Seed Youth Organization). The goal of YM4C, “We want to uplift and encourage youth using God’s word, in any way that we can”.Young Men 4 Christ has been blessed to share the stage and appear alongside quartet greats such as “Doc Mackenzie and the Highlights, The Jackson Southerners, Darrell McFadden and the Disciples and Paul Porter”. Young Men 4 Christ released their demo CD In January 2013 “Why Not Jesus”, Part 1; consisting of three selections, and have gotten consistent radio play on Detroit’s gospel stations.The full CD project was released July 7, 2013 in the City of Detroit featuring Lisa Knowles & the Brown Singers. “Our goal is to use our music to minister to all, with a youthful sound, while giving a traditional Gospel quartet feel.
