Mission

I’m here today to tell you ‘bout a place that captures all who stay a while

A place next to the water of a peaceful happy river going by

That seems to stop and look at you, a look that almost always makes you smile

As the river song sings to your heart and joins the wind’s secret calling sigh.

Chorus.

I first came as a guest and was welcomed by the people who lived here.

The people, some are new, some are children from so very long ago.

Ancient people came here first, joined by others who arrived year by year.

They all felt what I feel now, a home and friendly people, a city where the heart lights up to

glow.

Chorus.

Have you ever felt your tears wash away with all your fears by the rain?

And see them slowly mixing in the gentle river waters flowing through?

So you could say goodbye to them and feel your lips begin to smile again?

Well it happened here to me in this place that I would like to share with you.

Last time Chorus

Come to Mission, where the mountains touch the river and the sky

Come to Mission where the sacred eagle spreads its wings to fly.

Come to Mission, where the ancient peoples lived and I know why.

There’s a feeling that exists here, it’s here for all including you and I.

Add to last time Chorus:

There’s a feeling that exists here, it’s here for all including you and I.
