This week our guest will be: Amanda Lattanzio, joined People of Faith Against the Death Penalty as a Jesuit Volunteer (JV) in August 2007. Upon completing her year as a JV in August 2008, she was hired to continue working as a community organizer for PFADP. Originally from Canfield, Ohio, Amanda is a 2007 honors graduate of Xavier University with a BS in psychology and criminal justice. Amanda participated in an academic service learning semester in Ghana, West Africa, where she taught and supervised orphan children and completed coursework related to Ghanaian culture and history. She also tutored and provided assistance to refugees from Sierra Leone in anticipation of her time spent in Ghana. The mission of the Cumberland County Progressives is to promote economic, social, and environmental justice, peace and sustainability in North Carolina, work to maximize the democratic process, advocate for today's most pressing issues, serve as a voice of conscience.
