Today on Christ Enlight we examine the issue of doctrine in religious and spiritual life.  Doctrine is essentially the rules and definition which explain a particular groups beliefs and seek to enforce compliance with those beliefs. In many relgious settings, agreeing the the doctrinal positions of the Church are a requirement for membership.  Devation from accepted doctrine can, in many settings, lead to involuntary separation of the "offender" from felloowship in the relgious group.  We have several questions:

1. Does doctrine work?

2. Does doctrine lead to agreement or more often to falsehood on the part of those wished to remain a part of the group?

3. Is doctrine the enemy of free thought and the Holy Spirit, which we are told "blows where it will?"

Join us to look at these important issues and more!
