Gene Kortsha arrived in the United States in 1955. He earned a B.A. in Chemistry and an M.S. in Industrial Hygiene and Health Sciences from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Gene worked at General Motors for 29 years, serving for 13 years as Corporate Director of Industrial Hygiene. Currently Gene is an Adjunct Professor at Wayne State University. He and his wife, Margaret, live in Rochester Hills, Michigan and are members of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rochester. One Man's Journey to Freedom: Escape From Behind the Iron Curtain is his first book.
