'MY LIFE'S WORK'...From frostbitten toes to fingers-Chuck Brazelton.
Chuck, the youngest of four boys, all born at home in the family farm house near Brocton, IL.
Chuck attended a country school 2 miles from his home. The only way to get there was by WALKING. Cutting across several farms as a shortcut to get to school, my poor toes and fingers are finally thawing out.
Making CHOICES came early in my life. I had to make a decision/choice, move with my parents to a farm in Indiana or stay put. I chose to stay put and live with Elmer, my older brother and his wife. Elmer ran a filling station. Gas wars were popular back then. The lowest gas price was about 19 cents a gallon. Sure do miss the good old days.
