Pearl Harbor, Dec 7, 1941...

WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN!

Chicago flashback, Monday, Dec 8, 1941...U.S. and Japs at War!  Bomb Hawaii, Philipines, Guam, Singapore.

Pearl Harbor's horrors galvanized Chicago.  Many Chicagoans learned of the surpise attack 70 years ago on WGN's radio Ward Quaal show.  He broke into the transmission of the Chicago Bears-Chicago Cardinals game at about 1:30 p.m. Chicago time to announce that Japan was bombing the United States Pacific fleet in far-off Hawaii.

Suprise attack, Dec 7, 1941.  The attack was intented as a prevention action in order to keep the U.S. Pacific fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning in South East Asis against overseas territorities of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States.

Another big question, HOW DID THE JAPANESE MANAGE THE AUDACIOUS ATTACK THAT LASTED 2 HOURS!
