    CasaVerde...introduces you to SLOW Design

    Hi Everyone-
    The SLOW movement is a reaction to "progress" and the hyper-pace our society at large has taken.  The SLOW movement began in 1986 with the Slow Food movement, a protest against "fast food" culture and consumption, cultural homogenization, unhealthy ingredients and farm factories.

    SLOW design takes this to our interiors, and is a protest against mass-produced (sorry IKEA) and strives for more culturally diverse items, authentic an thnically made artifacts, arts & crafts.  Caroly Strauss is one of the pioneers of Slow Design. and founding director of the slowLab.  Slow design started taking shape in 2002 and is "slow"ly gaining steam.

    Here are the 6 principles of SLOW Design:
    Reveal
    Expand
    Reflect
    Engage
    Participate
    Evolve

    Practicing SLOW:
    Include ALL participants in design process
    Pass along the "STORY" of the design (furniture, items, color scheme)
    Let the locale of the project inspire you
    Use sustainable practices
